Antibody drug conjugate experts descended on Frankfurt recently as the European community convened for its annual Summit. At the top of the agenda were issues surrounding European regulation, ADC characterisation & process development and drug safety & PK.

Through dedicated networking sessions and informative presentations, stakeholders new and old refined how they can develop and implement a successful ADC program.

Highlights of the World ADC Summit Europe included:

• John Lambert delivered a superlative keynote highlighting the latest development of T-DM1, SAR3419 & IMGN901 as well as lessons learned from over 10 years of clinical experience with maytansinoid conjugates
• Alison Betts spoke about Pfizer’s work to create modelling and simulation tools for predicting the therapeutic window of different ADCs
• Leonard Reyno presented the first clinical data from Agensys’ Phase I trial of AGS-16M8F for metastatic renal cell carcinoma
• Mike Sun from Seattle Genetics described their approaches to ADC processing, scale-up and also which technologies worked best for ADCETRIS
• Genentech’s Kedan Li ran a focused workshop on the intricacies of PK assessment for ADCs and the linker/drug components in vivo
